Let Me Tell You Why I Started “Lombok Cruise Excursion”

It is a valid question. In fact, it is the exact question that inspired me to start this company.

I started my career as a young guide over 10 years ago. Back then, I saw cruise passengers being herded into massive buses, moving like cattle, waiting endlessly for headcounts, and seeing Lombok only through a glass window. I thought: “This isn’t right. My island is too beautiful to be seen this way.”

I wanted to offer something different. I wanted to give travelers the freedom to stop for a fresh coconut on the roadside, to chat with the local weavers, and to feel the sand between their toes—without the stress of a rigid schedule.

I Don’t Do “General Tourism”. I Specialize in Shore Excursions. Many travel agents in Lombok try to do everything—hotel bookings, flight tickets, trekking. I don’t.

My entire business is built around You—the cruise passenger.

I know the specific docking procedures of the Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, and Sun Princess.

I know the difference between the new Gili Mas Terminal Lombok and the old Lembar Harbor Lombok (and I know where your ship will be).

Most importantly, I know the traffic patterns. I know exactly how far we can push an adventure while still guaranteeing a safe return.

I believe a tour is only as good as the person behind the wheel. That is why I am very picky about who joins my team. I don’t just hire drivers; I look for Local Ambassadors.

Instead of corporate “Standard Operating Procedures,” we follow The Wayan Standard:

1. Fluent English: You shouldn’t have to struggle to be understood. We want to have real conversations with you about our culture, our families, and our lives.
2. The “Early” Rule: “On time” is late. We arrive at the port 30 minutes before your scheduled pickup. We wait for you; you never wait for us.
3. Your Car, Your Sanctuary: Our vehicles are private, clean, and air-conditioned. It is your safe space to cool down after a hot walk in a traditional village.

Let’s address the elephant in the room: The fear of missing the ship. I take this seriously. In over a decade of operation, we have never made a guest miss their ship. Not once.

We have a strict rule: We aim to be back at the port gate 1 hour before departure. We monitor the clock so you don’t have to. You can relax, enjoy your lunch, and take that last photo, knowing that your return journey is already calculated perfectly.

Lombok is my home. It is where I grew up, and it is where my heart is. Whether you want to explore the “Secret Gilis” away from the crowds or simply find a quiet beach to read a book, my team and I are here to make it happen.
